At this time of year, Crawfish are one of the most popular foods in Louisiana. After the crawfish boil is over, and you have leftover crawfish tails. You need something to do with them. After all that hard work of boiling crawfish, we can't just let them go to waste. These Crawfish Spread recipes are three of our excellent leftover crawfish recipes.

Cajun Crawfish Spread

Cajun Crawfish Spread Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons of butter
  • 3/4 of a cup of diced white onions
  • 4 minced garlic cloves
  • 3/4 of a cup of diced celery
  • 2 tablespoons of Slap Ya Mama Seasoning
  • 1/2 a teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • 8 ounces of peeled, finely chopped, cooked crawfish tails
  • 1 package of softened cream cheese
  • Garnish: celery leaf


  1. Melt the butter in a small skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the onion, celery, and garlic.
  3. Sauté for about 5 minutes, until the onion and celery are translucent.
  4. Add Slap Ya Mama and pepper.
  5. Sauté  for another 30 seconds.
  6. Combine the sautéed vegetables and crawfish tails in a large bowl.
  7. Add the softened cream cheese, and stir gently to combine.
  8. Garnish, if desired.

Serve this Crawfish spread with corn chips, vegetable crudites, or crackers.

Easy Spicy Crawfish Spread Recipe

Spicy Crawfish Spread Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups of crawfish tail meat, with fat
  • 1/2 a cup of softened butter
  • 4 teaspoons of lemon juice
  • Cajun seasoning to taste
  • Hot sauce to taste
  • 1 tablespoon of chopped parsley


  1. Combine the crawfish, butter, and lemon juice in a food processor.
  2. Pulse until the mixture is smooth.
  3. Season generously with the Creole seasoning and hot sauce
  4. Pulse to combine.
  5. Adjust seasonings.
  6. Add parsley.
  7. Pulse to combine.

Serve this Cajun spread with corn chips or vegetable crackers.

Creamy Crawfish Spread Recipe

Creamy Crawfish Spread Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 3/4 of a cup of finely chopped red bell pepper
  • 1/2 a cup of finely chopped sweet onion
  • 1 clove of minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoons of cajun seasoning
  • 5 dashes of tabasco sauce to taste
  • 1/2 a pound of frozen crawfish tails defrosted and drained of liquid
  • 1 package of softened cream cheese
  • 1/4 of a cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 sliced green onions


  1. Heat the butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the bell pepper and onion.
  3. Saute until softened, 3 to 4 minutes.
  4. Add the garlic and cajun seasoning
  5. Saute for 1 minute.
  6. Stir in the Tabasco and crawfish tails.
  7. Cook for 3 minutes.
  8. Turn heat down to medium-low
  9. Add the cream cheese and Parmesan cheese.
  10. Stir until cheeses are melted and everything is combined well.
  11. Remove from heat and stir in green onions.

This cream cheese crawfish spread is great when served on crackers or toasted baguette slices.
