The 36 quart stainless steel pot excludes the stainless steel basket for those who will not be using this pot for boiling or steaming. The 36 quart stainless steel pot measures 13 1/2 inches in diameter x 14 1/5 inches high. The steaming rim on the top of the pot is there just in case you decide to purchase a stainless steel basket in the future.
